Dear ISM Community,

For my 8th grade Community Project, I chose Teddy Bears with Heart (TBWH) as my community partner. TBWH collects stuffed animals for children in crisis, the terminally ill and the forgotten elderly. As part of my project, I did a Bear Drive at ISM to collect gently loved stuffed animals to donate to my community partner.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, 497 stuffed animals were collected, and they will all go to Teddy Bears with Heart who will distribute them to the organizations they work with.

The Bears are Still Coming!

When I came to school today, I was happily surprised with the news that more stuffed animals had been donated. Maren in seventh grade had brought in two bags of bears, and now the total is 497 stuffed animals!! I am so grateful that I have so many bears to give to children in crisis. I truly believe that it will bring smiles to their faces, and warmth to their hearts.

The Bears Just Keep Coming...

I can't believe it! The Bear Drive just won't stop! I received another 16 bears from Portola Hotel & Spa today, and I added them to the rest of the donations, now totaling 458 stuffed animals!

The total number of stuffed animals that I collected is....442!!! I can't believe it! I would like to thank TBWH, the International School of Monterey and Portola Hotel & Spa for all of their support! I am arranging with Ms. Susie and Ms. Karen from TBWH where and when to drop off the donations.

My supervisor and I went to Portola Hotel & Spa to pick up the barrel. The barrel was full! Portola Hotel & Spa has been so supportive of my project! Thank you, Portola Hotel & Spa!

Bear Drive at ISM - Week Two

Wow! The Bear Drive has been such a success! ISM has been such a supportive community, and this has been a very rewarding experience. So many families and ISM teachers were prompt to donate and were excited to do so. Kylie, in first grade, brought in eight bags full of stuffed animals! I was so grateful! Thank you to the entire ISM community!

Bear Drive at Portola Hotel & Spa

I went to Portola Hotel & Spa today to check on my Bear Drive and to see if any donations had been made. I was so amazed by the great amount of donations that were in the barrel! Portola Hotel & Spa has been so supportive of this Bear Drive, which I truly appreciate!
